2012 Watson Solutions Faculty Awards Program

IBM has announced its 2012 Watson Solutions Faculty Award Program with a call for proposals. The Watson Faculty Awards are cash awards that will be announced and awarded in November 2012. Each award recipient will receive a grant of $10,000 USD, with up to ten (10) awards in total. The purpose of the program is to support the development of world class curriculum development in machine learning, natural language processing, and Big Data analytics; and foster collaboration between academic faculty, students, and IBM Watson development and business teams. Collaborations between computing and business faculty are encouraged. Faculty interested in this program should contact Prof. Lixin Tao for nomination. If a faculty is nominated, an email will follow for completing the program proposal by July 24, 2012. If you are not ready this year, please be ready for the next year round competition because this program will be repeated each year.
